The Arts have been unquestionably impacted by major global and national events. We want to create spaces for creatives (practical and administrative) to re-imagine and thrive in the coming years; cultivating their own role in the Welsh arts scene.
Hijinx is dedicated to creating development opportunities for the creative sector, and freelance workers who we rely on to create our work. To support the arts community of Wales, Hijinx are offering Transformational Coaching.
Who is Coaching for?.
Everyone! But in the context of Coaching with Hijinx, we are particularly keen to support freelance creatives (practical and administrative) and all other creative practitioners.
What is Transformational Coaching?.
Transformational Coaching is like life coaching but supports you to go beyond simply achieving goals. It explores a ‘deeper realm’ by challenging the way you view yourself and others, and your environment. It is a space dedicated to you and your future. It is important to understand that coaching is not mentoring or performance skills training. In coaching, you will not be told what to do. Coaching is a commitment you make to yourself – you remain accountable for your own choices and decisions in your journey.

In reality – this is not therapy or counseling. But it is all connected. We will create a safe container, and work together on what it is you need to focus on to move forward.

Discovery chats last up to 30 minutes. Â
In this session, we will explore:
- What are you working towards that coaching might support?Â
- What will success look, feel and sound like to you?Â
- How we would work together (including how many sessions, 4 or 6, and frequency)Â
Coaching blocks are booked in 4 or 6 sessions, each session is up to 45 minutes in length. We recommend having 2-4 weeks between sessions to develop your thinking, and for you to have space to explore any developmental work you choose to take on.Â

Coaching sessions with Hijinx rates for coaching are significantly lower than industry standards per session:
- 5 or less sessions booked in one block are £40 per 45min session
- 6 – 10 sessions booked in one block are £35 per 45min session
- 11 or more session booked in one block are £30 per 45min session
However, we do not want money to be a barrier for people. If you are interested and need to discuss costs, please contact Jon directly.

Payment can be made in full upfront, or in two instalments.Â
All Coaching income will go directly into supporting Hijinx PAWB, our community projects for learning disabled and/or autistic people across Wales.
The Coach.
Our in-house coach is Jon, Head of Participation. Jon is a qualified Transformational Coach. His diploma from the Animas Centre for Coaching is accredited by the International Coach Federation (ICF), the Association for Coaching (AC) and the European Mentoring & Coaching Council (EMCC). He is a member of the ICF, the EMCC and the Gay Coaches Alliance. Additionally, Jon is a qualified Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) Practitioner (Coaching Academy), and a member of the Association of NLP (ANLP).
