Volunteer

Like Hijinx itself, our volunteering roles aren’t one size fits all, and we’ll find something to suit your interests, skills and time commitments.

We offer temporary and permanent volunteering roles and there’s something for everyone, whether that’s helping us with events, productions or community fundraising – or joining one of our student placements.

What can I do.

If you’re over 18 with a desire to learn something new, we’d love to hear from you! You can choose how much time you give, and we’ll provide you with all the training and support you need. No prior experience is necessary, but all volunteer and work experience placements are required to adhere to our Code of Conduct and may need to undertake an Enhanced DBS check.

We always need extra help at our shows and festivals, from manning the Hijinx information stand and handing out programmes, to moving props. If you’re happier behind the scenes, you can work in our office or join our community fundraising team. Our student placements provide a practical opportunity to gain experience in the arts sector, networking opportunities, and experience of working inclusively with people with and without learning disabilities – experiences that we hope you will carry forward into your future career.
