Applications to Join Odyssey Are Now Open!

Limited Spaces Available

Odyssey is Hijinx’s inclusive adults' community group.

This year, we are celebrating 25 years of creating engaging community theatre for families.

Each winter our members perform in the Weston Studio, Wales Millennium Centre. Our plays are written for the cast, who work with a professional production team invested in our members. This year our cast will also be devising and performing a piece of outdoor theatre for Hijinx’s Unity Festival.

Our members:
• Are 25 years old plus
• Are disabled and non-disabled
• Love performing
• Thrive in a busy, fun community

Do you enjoy performing? Are you looking for an exciting new opportunity this year?

We are currently seeking 3 neurotypical members to join our cast.

The process of joining.

Application (see details below) – we ask for applications so we can find people who are dedicated and will be a good Odyssey fit.

We will then invite some individuals to join us for a taster session.

We will ask you how you found the experience and if you’d like to continue.

The group will discuss who they feel is a good fit for the community.

We will contact all people with an outcome, which will be an offer to join or not.

Application emails should be sent to jon.dafydd-kidd@hijinx.org.uk. The deadline to apply is Monday 1st April.

Applications can be:

  • Either written (no more than 1 page of A4 equivalent)
  • Or a video (no more than 2 minutes in length)

Applications should include...

Who you are (name, pronouns, any access information it is useful for us to know to support you in a session).

Any experience you have of performance (this won’t impact your opportunity; it helps us get to know you).

Why you are interested in joining Odyssey (this might include experience of working in inclusive environments, any learning you are hoping to do, or something totally different).

Any additional information you would like us to be aware of.

Additional Information.

Odyssey is just one of our community projects across Wales. It is the flagship programme and is the elder sibling of our two young people’s theatres, our band and more.

Collectively, we call our community projects “PAWB” because they are for everyone.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Jon (Head of PAWB) by emailing: jon.dafydd-kidd@hijinx.org.uk.
