Only 12% of learning-disabled adults regularly attend cultural events, compared to over 70% of the general population (Mencap, 2019).
Beyond Words is a brand-new, online interactive training programme designed to enhance communication and accessibility across the events sector in Wales and beyond.
Drawing from the lived experience of Hijinx’s Academy artists, the course has been built around a series of interactive drama-based scenarios, closely reflecting the experiential nature of Hijinx’s in-person training sessions.
Throughout the course, you will find:
- Short, scenario-based films
- Interactive activities and quizzes
- Opportunities for reflection and note-taking
- Downloadable resources and PDF guides
- Practical tools to support your learning
The course has a cost of £59 per person, with bundles available for larger groups at a reduced cost per head; all funds raised go back into supporting what we do at Hijinx.
It takes approximately 3.5 hours, and can be stopped and started when convenient to you.
