How we can acknowledge your gift:

We want to honour your gift with care and respect. Here are some ways we can acknowledge your generosity:

• Sending a personalised thank-you letter to the family or memorial organiser
• Including a tribute message on our website or in our programme materials (with your permission)
• Sharing updates on how the donation is making a difference at Hijinx
• Providing a dedicated page or booklet at a memorial event, if appropriate

We are happy to discuss how best to acknowledge your gift in a way that feels meaningful to you and the family.

How to make a gift in memory:

1. Contact us: Reach out to let us know you’d like to make a gift in memory. We’ll guide you through the process and answer any questions.
2. Make your donation: You can donate securely online, by cheque, or via bank transfer—whichever suits you best.
3. Share your wishes: Let us know how you’d like the gift to be acknowledged, and if you have any tribute messages you’d like us to include.
4. We’ll confirm: We’ll send you a confirmation and arrange the acknowledgement with respect and care.
5. Stay connected: We’ll keep you updated on the difference your gift is making through our newsletters and stories from the community.

What Kind of Gift Can I Leave?

There are two simple ways to leave a gift in your will:

1. A Share of Your Estate (known as a ‘Residuary Gift’)

After taking care of your loved ones, you might consider leaving a percentage of your estate to Hijinx.

Sample wording:
“I give [the residue of my estate / ___% share of the residue of my estate] to Hijinx Theatre, registered charity number 1078358, of Hijinx Theatre, Wales Millennium Centre, Bute Place, Cardiff Bay, CF10 5AL, to be used for its general charitable purposes.”

2. A Fixed Amount (Pecuniary Gift)

This is a specific sum of money that you choose to give.

Sample wording:
“I give the sum of £[amount] to Hijinx Theatre, registered charity number 1078358, of Hijinx Theatre, Wales Millennium Centre, Bute Place, Cardiff Bay, CF10 5AL, to be used for its general charitable purposes.”

Other types of gifts

You may also wish to leave a specific item, such as property or shares. Your solicitor can advise you on how best to word this.

• We will never pressure you. This is your decision, and we will always give you the time and space you need to make it in your own way.
• Your loved ones come first. We completely respect that your family and friends are your top priority, and we will never try to change that.
• We know circumstances can change, and we fully understand if you decide to update or withdraw your gift in future.
• We will honour your wishes. If you’d like your gift to support a particular area of our work ensure that your gift is spent as you intend.
• We will treat your loved ones with sensitivity and respect if we are ever in contact with them regarding your gift.
• We will respond to any questions honestly and promptly, and support you with clear, compassionate communication at every stage.
• We will always respect your privacy. If you share your intentions with us, that information stays with us. We’ll never share or sell your personal details.
• We are committed to best practice. We follow the Code of Fundraising Practice set out by the Fundraising Regulator, and we are proud to uphold the highest ethical standards.
