Unity Festival Volunteering

An Intro to Hijinx and Unity Festival...

Hijinx is one of Europe’s leading inclusive theatre companies, creating outstanding performances with learning disabled and/or autistic artists on stage and screen, for Wales and for the world.

Something that incorporates all elements of our company is our biennial Unity Festival, which celebrates diversity and inclusivity by providing a platform for other inclusive companies from around the world to perform to the audiences of Wales. Starting in 2008, the festival has gone from strength to strength and is now hosted across Wales to best reflect our company’s make up. This year the festival is taking place in Bangor on 27 June, in Llanelli on 29 June and in Cardiff from 3 – 7 July.

Our Volunteering Roles.

We rely on the support of our volunteers to ensure the festival runs smoothly. We have different opportunities for compassionate, driven and friendly individuals.

Front of House Volunteers
Greeting audiences, providing information about the festival, collecting audience feedback, and working within a team to make sure that people enter and exit events safely and smoothly.

Stewards
Working within a team to make sure that people get to and from events safely. Offering help and advice to festival-goers to make their experience a great one. Assisting with audience access. Collecting audience feedback.
