Hijinx and Principality getting even closer!

Principality staff in the words of the company's slogan really did 'get closer' in a two hour workshop led by Hijinx Theatre. Hijinx Theatre led a fun, creative workshop with 12 employees from Principality on Thursday 6th October. The workshop was led by Artistic Director, Gaynor Lougher and Outreach Officer, Nick Llewellyn. The workshop aims were quite simply to facilitate a creative workshop and to begin to explore communication and body language for the employees.
The workshop seemed to go really well with positive reactions from many of the participants. The group were quite cohesive and we didn't realise that they knew each other so well so the beginning 'getting to know you' exercises were more of getting to know you even better! The group were very receptive to the ideas put forward and were not afraid of trying out new ideas and techniques. The group seem to enjoy working with each other outside of their normal working routine.
The workshop explored how we communicate with each other using non- verbal communication and intonation. We also worked on the idea of space, status and powerlessness and related those principles to their work setting. The group were willing and excited to try out these ideas and produced some evoking and moving images that were reflected on by the group. Hijinx were thrilled to facilitate this workshop and relished working with non-actors to begin to allow them to try out the skills and ideas that we use on a daily basis through our line of work.
