We were asked to create some forum theatre scenes for Have Your Say events in Welshpool, Llandrindod Wells and Brecon. The focus of the scenes was the care plan review process, with the aim of the sessions being to gain feedback off service users on how personal care plan meetings should be run.

To do this I worked with the same actors (with and without learning disability) who created the pieces for the Learning Disability Wales Conference in November 2008. They were Leila Bebb, Andrew Tadd, Simon Richards, Leonie Delgada and Oberon Alexander. Through research, consultation with Powys Social Services and my actors we created 4 scenes all dealing with the annual care plan review process.

PowysPeopleFirst After rehearsals we were ready to go on tour! We spent 3 days in Powys with a different event in a different location on each day. All the events went very well with plenty of feedback being gathered from the service users. We also recorded the sound at each event to be transcribed at a later date in order to document the service user's feedback.

PowysPeopleFirst It was fantastic to be able to offer my actors the experience of a mini tour, none of whom are professional actors. After 3 days we returned to Cardiff, tired but happy - it was hard work, but we all had a great time too!
