Odyssey Theatre

Odyssey TheatreThe long held dream of Gaynor Lougher, Artistic Director of Hijinx Theatre came to fruition in 1999 with the birth of Odyssey Theatre. As a participatory performance group it is open to adults of all ages and abilities, including adults with learning disabilities, who share a desire to perform and who can give the commitment that this demands. With full professional back-up, Odyssey has developed a way of adapting or recreating well known stories or genres to give each production its own unique style.

With two productions a year in July and December, Odyssey has built up a firm following. Music is always an essential part of any production and through collaborations with Community Music Wales, Canton and Riverside services and The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama the number of performers has increased to include carers, people with learning disabilities and music students.
